Abstract
The recent literature on corporate social responsibility is searching for new ways of education in relation to citizenship and social responsibility. This paper reviews some of the educational issues discussed within the corporate social responsibility literature. It also includes examples of some of the methods and tools used at universities across the world. This overview helps to set the context and relevance of civil involvement projects in this area. Following the literature review, we outline an approach to civic involvement projects that has been developed at Sabanci University in Turkey. The paper concludes with some suggestions for universities that are developing or planning to develop their own social responsibility programs.
