Frequently Asked Questions




Q1. How can I login ?

A: You can login using your SU-Net username and password. To login click the login button on home page.


Q2. Who can use this application?

A:
   1. Only faculty members and administrative staffs can login to the application and can add record.
   2. Anyone can search the repository for public records


Q3. Should I re-enter the records that I've entered to the previous application ?

A: No. All records on previous application have been migrated to this new application. You can see your existing records after login.


Q4. I can't see my all records on "Manage deposits" screen ! Why?

A: By default, only records with status of "User workarea" and "Under review" are listed. You can also see your records on archive by ckecking Live Archive box.


Q5. How can I write comments related with the item to Editor ?

A: You can use "Comments and Suggestions to the Editor" field on Details page. Only editors can see this information.


Q6. How can I hide my record to public search ?

A: On Details page, there is "Bibliographic Information Visibility" field. If you select other than public for this filed, your record will not be searchable publically.


Q7. What types of file can I upload as Fulltext ?

A: Supported file types are;

   MS Word (.doc)
   MS Powerpoint (.ppt)
   Adobe PDF (.pdf)
   Post Script (.ps)
   Hyper Text Markup Language (.html)


Q8. How can I update my existing records ?

A: If the status of the record is User Workarea, click the record, open the Edit tab, then choose the step to update.
If the status of the record is Under Review, you cannot update directly. On manage deposits screen click on the record, on Actions tab click the Return to Work Area button, then open the Edit tab, then choose the step to update.
If the status of the record is Live Archive, you cannot update directly. On manage deposits screen click on the record, on Actions tab click the New Version button, then open the Edit tab, then choose the step to update

Q9. How can I delete my existing records ?

A: If the status of the record is User Workarea, click the record, open the Actions tab, then click the Destroy Item button.
If the status of the record is Under Review, you cannot delete directly. On manage deposits screen click on the record, on Actions tab click the Return to Work Area button, then open the Actions tab, then click the Destroy Item button.
If the status of the record is Live Archive, you cannot delete directly. You can only request deletion; On manage deposits screen click on the record, on Actions tab click the Request Deletion button, on next page specify the reason for deletion then click the Send button. The administrator will contact to you.
Be carefull, destroyed records cannot be recovered.

How can i delete an item,that's status is work area.

Q10. How can I update my profile ?

A:Updating "my profile" in Research Database.


Q11. How can I publish a content for my previous publication?

A: You can link your Previous Publications with a related file or document that you added to Research database.
