Abstract

The global pursuit of sustainable industrial practices is confronted by the escalating challenge of controlling carbon dioxide emissions, primarily from key industrial processes such as power generation, cement production, and metal manufacturing. In response to this pressing issue, the deployment of carbon cap- ture technologies has gained considerable traction as a viable strategy to mitigate the environmental impact of carbon dioxide emissions. This overview chapter critically examines the recent advancements and challenges in metal oxide-based carbon capture methodologies, focusing on their pivotal role in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change and fostering sustainable industrial operations.
