Many teachers are experimenting with available technologies, but their level of integration varies, and there are identifiable factors that cause this variation. An identification of the individual and situational factors that either facilitate or hinder teachers' efforts and an analysis of how these individual and situational factors influence effective integration of the graphing calculator are the focus of this book. The author refers to situational factors for the external motivational factors coming from teachers' social and home environments, school context, and classroom atmosphere. In addition, the author refers to individual factors for personal or internal motivational factors related to teachers' characteristics such as knowledge, confidence, belief, attitude, and experience. The research in this book was valuable in giving an opportunity to teachers to address their thoughts, practices, and perceptions. This book can help educators and policy-makers to understand teachers' needs regarding professional development, pedagogical guidance, and technical support and to understand how meeting these needs can lead to improvements in instruction and student performance.
