Acropolis Sunset: The Voice Within (special performance)

Is it possible to hear the mysteries hidden within a rock that has stood for centuries beneath the witness of the same sky and sun? The rock has carried within it the breath of the wind, the touch of light, the traces of rain, the patience of roots, the passage of birds, the voices of people, and the weight of silence through the ages. Can we hear the memory concealed within the rock? Can we sense its feelings rooted in the earth, its face turned toward the sun, and the silent vibrations it re/eases into the sky? In this performance, Selçuk Artut and Nihal Saruhanlı exist as channels and mediators between the rock and the sky, the sun and the earth. Their aim is not to make the rock speak, but to hear it, sense the vibrations within it, and convey this perception to the audience. Developed entirely through improvisation, the performance will take shape in the moment, allowing the whispers-and perhaps even the cries-of the rock to be heard by those witnessing it at the Acropolis.
