Abstract

This study examines chair designs by interior design students, analyzing how classical and modern influences are integrated. Using deep neural networks, it assesses how well these designs meet stylistic standards. This computational approach reveals the interaction between classical and contemporary elements, emphasizing subtle details in the chairs' stylistic synthesis. These findings enhance our understanding of the artistic processes inherent in interior design education, emphasizing students' proficiency in amalgamating varied design inspirations, thus demonstrating the adaptability of eclectic design. Moreover, the study extends its implications beyond interior design, offering valuable insights for broader design education. Future research can expand this method to include more product and interior designs, enabling a deeper exploration of the complex dynamics of merging different styles in design evolution.
