Abstract
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a disorder affecting kinetic functions and limiting activity, with symptoms like muscle weakness and spasticity which can make the life of achild extremely challenging if left untreated. Serious games are one of the mostcommon treatment methods of CP. However, designing a serious game has certainchallenges. The games need to motivate children and include adjustable parametersto fit their needs while enabling children to do the intended motions correctly. With this motivation, we have designed and developed a game suite (called UzayMacerası) that includes three serious games to address the following special needsof children with CP: For a personalized adaptation of a game for a child, we havedeveloped an Artificial Intelligence method, based on Bayesian optimization that issample efficient. To analyze and visualize the progress of children over these games(considering the smoothness, efficacy, temporal efficiency and accuracy of motions),we have implemented an interactive system (called SG Hub) to aid the educatorsand the therapists. The whole system has been built in collaboration with SpasticChildren’s Foundation of Turkey (TSCV), and has been tested and evaluated bychildren, educators and therapists at TSCV and other medical institutes, leading topositive feedback.cut
