Abstract

This is a prestige book financed by the İstanbul German High School Association, supported by the Tarih Vakfı Foundation. This book documents the history of Istanbul German High School and was prepared to mark the 150th anniversary of this institution. The work is divided chronologically into three chapters. The first chapter is titled "From Neighborhood School to Bourgeois School of the Imperial Age (1868-1918)", followed by the chapter titled "A High School Stuck Between Nationalisms and Crises (1924-1944)", and finally "Towards Pluralism and Participation: 1953-2019".
