Antibacterial agent (quaternary ammonium salt) containing perfluorinated polymers had been synthesized at different agent concentrations. The polymers were dissolved in solvent mixture and electrospun, to increase effective surface area, at 12 kV which had resulted nanofibers with diameters as low as 40 nanometers and fluffy structures. The resultant electrospun webs’ biocidal activities relative to the solution cast film samples and other biocides had been tested with Escherichia Coli bacteria containing aqueous medium. The potential application fields of the product may be antifouling applications at air filtering, marine industry and antibacterial applications in medicine.
