Abstract

A facile concept by combining plasmonic directional gold nanorod arrays with a temperature-sensitive polymeric thin film for controlling water motion through light illumination is demonstrated. The developed concept does not only allow the flow and guidance of water through light illumination, but also allows the flow rate and direction of the liquid to be easily controlled.
