Abstract

Chatter is one of the major limitations in milling operations. Milling tools with special geometries such as variable pitch, serrated or crest-cut forms can be very effective in suppressing chatter and increasing productivity. The paper will present various aspects related to these tools such as their design and performance in a comparative manner.
