This method paper proposes a research methodology for use of big data approach in social media studies. The size of the data acquired from social media, its accumulation speed and the variety of details inherited in the data require utilization of a different research approach other than conventionally used methods. The aim of this paper is to provide a detailed research framework starting from data collection to data analysis steps for examining Twitter data through abduction approach.
