Post-publication, an investigation conducted by Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team on behalf of the journal identified references that are irrelevant to the article. Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team reached out to the authors for an explanation, but they were unable to provide a satisfactory response. Consequently, the editor has lost confidence in the results and conclusions of the article and has determined it should be retracted. Apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process. The authors disagree with the retraction and dispute the grounds for it.
