Abstract

An efficient interpolation technique suitable for highly oscillating electromagnetic response curves is proposed and implemented to a global design optimization study of a broadband antenna. Design results with varying material distributions show that the BST reduces the average number of calls by 1/3 when compared with linear interpolation. Initial results of a large scale design study with varying permittivity/permeability and conductor distributions is presented resulting in a 8.6% bandwidth response in a practical time frame. More complicated designs and convergence studies are currently studied.
